INTRODUCTION

The Fourth International Conference on Applications of Porous Media 2009 will be held in Istanbul, the only city in the world that sits astride two continents and connects Europe and Asia. ICAPM2009 will be built on the success of three previous meetings held in Jerba, Tunisia, 2002, in Evora Portugal 2004, and in Marrakech Morrocco in 2006. As before, the main objective of the Conference is to bring together the various researchers from industry and universities’ researchers to present the state-of-the-art in all research fields on porous media such as toxic waste disposal, fuel cells, filtration, biomechanics, oil reservoirs; hydrology, etc. and to provide a relaxed atmosphere for in-depth discussion of theory, experiments, and applications of porous media. All subjects related to applicationsof porous media are welcome, which includes but not limited to: Biotechnology, Environmental, Oiland Gas, Geophysical, Heat Exchangers, Multiphase, Reactors, Double Diffusion, Natural, Forced and Mixed Convection and Bio-convection, Combustion, Radiation,Drying, Food Industry, Aerospace, Maritime etc.
